I'm truly baffled how we can play such a sound game v bolts then come in and lay and egg against a hated rival. |

Wonder how Ron Hextall the player feels about this team. Seeing the lack of toughness and getting pushed around constently. |

So wait...Andrew MacDonald is saying that the team needs to take more penalties per game??? Is he the new Zac Rinaldo, claiming that taking a 5-minute major is the key to winning games? - jmatchett383
lol was thinking the same thing |

"Sometimes when you only take one or two penalties a game, it’s hard to get your percentage up. That certainly happens but it’s not an excuse. When we do the pre-scout we need to be a little bit stronger, sometimes you need to get in a little rhythm that’s all you need to do," Flyers defenseman Andrew MacDonald said.
you know what makes it harder to get the percentage up? letting up PP goals in abundance. |

It's getting hard to watch this team any more. Someone wake me up when they make a trade or on draft day.

5) The Flyers penalty kill went 0-for-2 last night to fall to an atrocious 75.6 percent on the season. Only the Islanders (74.6) and Oilers (70.8 percent) have been worse percentage wise.
And yet the guy coaching the PK remains in place. Why? |

Bill,
I'm not asking for Jody Shelly, but can you speak to why this team seems so soft. Guys like Weise and Simmonds just don't seem to bring really any physical presence. Or am I just totally wrong?
Gudas i can understand in a way because of already having a big suspension this year.
Not just fighting but this team doesn't seem to really even hit much or provide a physical presence.
Is it because the pk is so bad they are afraid to take penalties? Is it something the coach preaches? is it just the roster construction?
just trying to get an idea why this teams lacks any physical play this year. |

I'd want to see Lappy gone before Hakstol, IMHO
I know that may not be the answer to all their problems, but I think it's time to move to a new PK coach |

Team doesn’t lack physical play only this year.
They have been playing vanilla hockey under Hak the whole time. Trademark of his tenure. It’s definitely a message being sent by coaching, endorsed by GM. |

Pretty dumb comment by MacDonald. Whether 10 penalties happen over 5 games or 2 games, doesn't change anything percentage wise. |

Well Brandon Manning was willing to hot a guy's knuckles with his face last night.
I don't think you need a big punishing guy. What you need is a total team toughess, where everyone plays with and edge. Can you remind me who the big bruiser was on the Penguins last year or the year before? I can't, and they did okay. |

they can and often are an easy team to play against. i don't mean that the opposition will simply win. they're not a grind you down, chippy team. it's pudding. i don't like pudding. |
